Famous Last Words

I just love a word well spoken. I am drawn in by a good writer/communicator in: books, lyrics, conferences, a story at a family gathering, pastors/teachers, movies etc. Words connect us. Words are powerful. Words are forever. Words from children come from a very raw and a very honest place emotionally speaking (notice I did not say that children are always honest :) ) My children's words can be a source of laughter, love, frustration, hurt, and incredible insight to their mother.

Famous Last Words of a 6 year old Middle Child (girl)!!!

Middle Child: (Enters the room loudly, high on emotion with lots and lots of dramatic facial expressions and a slight nasal quality to her voice) "Mom, Oldest Child is ...... and ........ and .......!!!!!!!!!!!"

Mom: "Middle Child tell Oldest Child that I said to stop."

Middle Child: (Continued dramatic layers) "NO!! Say something WORSER!!"

*scene change*

Middle Child: (Enters bathroom where Mom is getting ready. Low on emotion and high on sweetness) "Mom, may I play with these bubbles?"

Mom: (Shocked that Middle Child chose to ask permission) "Sure honey, just do it out on the screened porch."

Middle Child: (Looks in her mother's eyes with surprise and affection and excitement. Looks down at the bubbles and exists the room saying) "Oldest Child is going to be soooo sad!"

Mom: (Perplexed thinking to herself) "What did that mean?"

*2 minutes later*

Oldest Child: (Loud and with lots of emphasis on each final consonant) "Middle Child that is mine!!!!

What a Week!

Welcome to my blogging home!! Props to Fabulous K designs :) I just love the layout Kelly. The blog spot has been ready for a couple of days, but we have had quite a week: attended a funeral for Deneen, a godly wife and mother of 44 who battled lung cancer for 2 years, our dog Maddie died, I lost a job (bad, bad economy), thankfully had started a new job, my youngest is having separation issues, we have 3 ballgames a weeks between the girls, and... well... have been navigating through life's basic and not so basic victories and defeats. Even though this week has had its share of lows, I have been the recipient of such love, support, and kindness through my family and friends. (Phil. 1:3) I am one blessed girl :) I say all that to say, I have really been looking forward to beginning this journal/blog and when the blank screen appeared . . . . . I couldn't form one complete sentence!!!!!! What a beginning :)

We are heading to the ball field again, but just wanted to officially kick off the blog spot that will allow you to ......Catch up with the Kendalls.

He is Faithful,
Amanda
